The Cryogenic SFM is a dedicated instrument for operation at cryogenic temperatures and in high magnetic fields and extends the range of low temperature UHV SPM applications to the investigation of insulators and magnetism. It features a completely non-magnetic design, UHV compatibility, 3D-sample/probe positioning, and in-vacuum sample and cantilever/tip exchange. Beside STM, the integrated interferometric force detection enables full AFM capabilities (contact/non-contact mode) in various specialised modes such as Magnetic Force Microscopy (MFM) or Kelvin Probe Microscopy (KPM). The Cryogenic SFM is available as head-only version for self-integration or as part of a complete system solution in the MULTIPROBE Cryogenic UHV System.
Fields of Applications: Investigation of the Local Density of States (LDOS) by tunneling spectroscopy Vibrational spectroscopy (inelastic, IETS) Magnetism & Magnetic structures: domain size, domain reorganisation, field dependence of domains Superconductivity: vortices, vortex pinning, vortex pattern
Technical Data: Head dimensions: Ø 43mm; l=110mm
